For what it's worth.

For what it's worth-- a short, distracted Requiem Mass
to a very dear friend of mine
who told fortunes and must have known his own
probably knew his own, date and time of death
whether it was because he divined it, or willed it, or both

I don't even know yet the cause
I don't want to say such a thing like a WILLED IT
I don't mean it in that way
I just found out in today Aberdeen, my phone rang during my pilgrimage to Nirvana

I just mean his glow receded like a shadow in reverse
Or a shadow shrinking from dawn to noon

I haven't processed this yet
I'm up in Seattle- my favorite city I think.
I'll still likely be driving to Redondo Beach to do my old run route
or look for the Chopard watch that got swallowed by its sands
and park on the street
and walk up to his apartment
and knock on the door
and ask if he wants to go to Green Temple
and talk about the 60s

Rest in Peace, you must've reached Nirvana too
